SmartAccounts data for your finance model

- 04Management reporting · Budget and forecast
If your monthly actuals come from SmartAccounts and your budget sits in Excel, both need matching report lines and periods. We agree which accounting data to bring into Fabric and where the budget comes from.
Status: Previous Power BI experience. Fabric connection scope is established in the finance review.
How does data reach Fabric?
We design loading from the API into Fabric, including how changes, interruptions and retries are handled. The Pro plan includes API access.
Which data will we use?
We select the accounts, transactions and periods the report needs. The source of the budget and forecast is agreed separately.
What will the output look like?
For example, a monthly report comparing SmartAccounts actuals with your budget. The explanation of the variance and the assumptions for next month remain distinct. Inspect the worked example.
What is checked before implementation?
We check your plan, API access, required objects and request limits. Load time and refresh frequency are confirmed after a trial load.
Your finance team approves account mappings and balances for a sample period. We agree the environment, access and processing boundaries with your IT team. No API keys are needed for the first call.
What needs a separate agreement?
Currency treatment, intercompany eliminations and statutory consolidation. Accounting-system changes, unlimited history and writeback to the source also require separate scope. A management view is not automatically a consolidation solution.
How will you accept the work?
We check balances for the agreed period and entities, report-line mappings and refresh logs. Gaps are recorded before you decide on the next stage. Planning and ongoing management have separately agreed scope.
